This book is so fucking good.

First of all, the representation is amazing. I love how queer friendly and woman-empowering it is despite it literally being about homophobia, sexism, and oppression.

(I’ll prob repeat all of this in my review but oh well.)

Secondly, I like how the story also serves as food for thought, but still had enough plot to keep me engaged.

Finally, holy crap how the plot has thickened.

I hate the father with a burning passion

1) This book really adds fuel to my man-hating fire. I get angry every time I pick this damn book up.

2) That last chapter was insane. To finally understand her mother’s behavior the moment she became her… what a turning point.

3) This story is told so well. Depending on how this ends, this might be a five star read.

What can be worse than a man? A cheater. What can be worse than a cheating man? A sexist cheater. What can be worse than sexist cheating man? A sexist HOMOPHOBIC cheater. Death to the dad, idc.

Don’t even get me started on the school. This book makes me fume.

Justice for Marla 🏳️‍🌈

This is already VERY intriguing and very well written. I love the way the author uses pure imagery and perspective (show not tell) to tell us about our characters and about what’s happening.
