Verity is so freaking cute! I love her can-do attitude. And I love how everyone immediately loves Jack.

The writing took some getting used to and I’m still not too keen on it. It’s very whimsical, but something about it just doesn’t flow naturally to me.

That said, this would make such a great Ghibli film😄

This was recommended to me by a Barnes and Noble salesperson, and I just have such a damn hard time saying no. Anyway, it’s a nice fall read and it’s very magical and whimsical so far :)

Oh god it’s even worse than I thought. This is the most ridiculous book I’ve ever read and the audiobook is not making it any better😂

This reminds me of one of those really cheesy AI vertical films with those shifter animals. But at least in those, they didn’t skimp on the romance. I thought this was a romantasy or dark romance. So where is the romance?? Calling these cringe bullies hot doesn’t count.

That ending was so satisfying. The beginning was pretty epic too. But everything in between kind of made my teeth grate.

The writing and pacing still feels off to me but the storytelling is unique.

I’ve also noticed lots of build up and not as much payoff. And when there is build up or foreshadowing, it comes to fruition in a predictable way.

Also, Poppy is annoying lmao

But on a positive note I LOVE KEIRAN! I just wish we saw more emotion or anger from him. I want to know what he’s actually thinking and feeling.

I’m not sure if it’s the book or the audiobook that bothers me but something does. There’s some annoying purple prose and lots of repetition. Not a fan of the writing, but I’ll admit, the story has me hooked.

This is a very fun spicy romance, but I’m just not entirely convinced by it. Idk, something about it just feels… almost like a wattpad story or something. I’m enjoying myself, but I’m not getting major butterflies or anything. The yearning is there, it just didn’t have time to marinate.

Ok I actually love Kitty.

What I really love about this whole book is the subtle theme that it’s always a matter of perspective.

I think it’s hilarious that every outsider looking in (apart from Hinsley who I would marry over any of these dudes) is that Kitty is in love with Archie😂💀 oh, just wait until they all realize…

Every time I start to like Kitty, she goes and does something cunty again😀 I thought for sure she was going to help that poor girl (who reminded her of her sisters btw) talk to her crush, but instead she took him for herself💀 I felt bad about what happened between her and Stanford at first but now I have no sympathy lol she’s a snake.

So why am I still rooting for her?

This is like if Bridgerton and Pride and Prejudice had a baby.

What’s crazy is that if we didn’t have Kitty’s perspective or backstory, she would be the antagonist😂

I like Kitty’s wit, determination, and that she takes pleasure in driving Radcliffe mad and. But she’s kind of evil lol and I don’t like the way she talks to the servants. Was she not taught gratitude or pleases and thank yous??

Woah… finally a twist I did not see coming.

I am eating this book up like breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Is it a five star read? Not quite. But it is still DELICIOUS😋

Ok ok ok the plot is SO GOOD!

My only critique so far is that there are a couple of punctuation and grammatical issues and very minor plot holes, but that’s sort of to be expected by a self-published author. I think it could have gone through one more round of edits and been perfect.

The FMC is so cocky—and it’s annoying and unreliable and yet I love her LMAO!

Also I LOVE how this is TRUE enemies to lovers

Picked this one up to support an indie author and holy shit it’s so good so far

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I really like the story. It’s a unique concept that can cause a lot of emotional and political turmoil. But I can’t follow the politics AT ALL. Apart from the romance, I have no clue what’s going on. The chapters are so long (like what do you mean one chapter is 40 pages) that the story starts to drag. Also don’t know how to feel about the writing.

This book is so fucking good.

First of all, the representation is amazing. I love how queer friendly and woman-empowering it is despite it literally being about homophobia, sexism, and oppression.

(I’ll prob repeat all of this in my review but oh well.)

Secondly, I like how the story also serves as food for thought, but still had enough plot to keep me engaged.

Finally, holy crap how the plot has thickened.

1) This book really adds fuel to my man-hating fire. I get angry every time I pick this damn book up.

2) That last chapter was insane. To finally understand her mother’s behavior the moment she became her… what a turning point.

3) This story is told so well. Depending on how this ends, this might be a five star read.

Cardan Greenbriar would get along great with Casteel. I aspire to be their level of delusional😍
