This series is a delight, and is exactly what I want to read when I'm looking for something fun, escapist, and light. France, a mystery, a slow-burn romance, set in the WWII era, and with strong female protagonist(s). Julia Child being in it is a fun addition for me, but not a major draw. I know for many (most?) readers of the series, she's a major draw.
