She’s so mature and insightful… I think poverty and hardship do force you to grow up faster. She was such a force of life and light. The diary’s tone is very light but it’s heavy to read. My heart breaks for the girl in the annex :(

I suppose no one gets to the end of this without crying. What an incredible person, with a level of emotional maturity and introspection that I dont know if I have at 34. And her patience and compassion for humanity despite what was happening. Brilliant as well, and funny. I think the abrupt end of her diary (the topic of the last entry too), and how close they were to liberation… just really extra wreck me…
