Okay welp, the slow pacing is a bit infuriating when building up to an important point of the story. Jfc idc about the care of the horse or the chores u give to the officer, just tell me if u got the child out of the toxic ass abusive household or not! 😵💫 Maybe the real les mis are the readers suffering through the seemingly unintentional suspense.

Oh nevermind, there's even more introduction. It's kinda charming though, I'm loving all the elaborate world building and character development. Definitely a slow burn book though.
