I’m almost free

Ugh…this is so..boring. Brandon kind of grosses me out. As do literally all of the characters honestly. There’s like no redeemable people here!

Classic man who doesn’t know what he wants.

I find myself curling my lip a lot too. This book is giving me the ick.

I’m wrinkling my nose at the end of each chapter. That’s not a good sign.

Ok, so as a high school romance…I dunno if I’ll keep going tbh. I’d like to say “we’ll see,” but the truth of the matter is this: I’m not loving the heroine at present. The fake boyfriend is just now seeing the heroine for the first time. So are other dudes. And tbh I hate it.

So far this book is just…vapid. Like…these are high school kids. So they’re basically angsty little monsters. But nobody ever seems to articulate high schoolers beyond the surface. Aly (the heroine) is not multi-faceted. She thinks of volleyball to calm down. She also thinks that being labeled a commitment by her peer group is the worst. It’s very “god, you’re ruing my life!!!”
