it's always a weird experience to be invested in a book despite not being able to stop noticing it's flaws-- for example, nash clearly has done zero research on how far horses are able to travel without needing rest. i guess some books are meticulous in their worldbuilding and some are just based on vibes, lol.

That kind of thing bothers me too! I once read a thriller where two people (one of them with a disorder where he sleeps for 23 hours out of the day), plus a cat and a dog, drove from Washington DC to Las Vegas in 34 hours. Apparently their bladders are the size of Saturn and their car fuel mileage is YES. >_>

LMAO seriously, and like sometimes when my expectations are already low i don't care (like in this case, i wasn't even really expecting to finish the first book let alone the whole trilogy) but there are definitely books where something like this would bother me a LOT lol.
I can't not care. I wonder why the author doesn't care enough to think about the real-world logistics of their story. Even if it's completely fantasy, what are the rules of the world they created? Sometimes they are just so ridiculous and expect readers to just go along with anything. Another one that I think about a lot was a ghost vs human fight on top of a speeding car, where the human was punched off of the car but manages to grab onto the lip between the rear window and the trunk. Nope. I don't believe it. Physics don't work like that. If so, I'd like for the author to please demonstrate. LOL
