It's so hard to get through....some chapters are just a bunch of difficult and dated words. Thankfully some chapters have that Golden Compass and La Belle Sauvage vibe.

Some of the characters are finally coming together. Why so many extra characters, why so much time to build up to what the book refers to as Part Two?

Took a few pages to get into the story again but I'm hooked already. The fantasy part is a little less than previous books, but that makes sense story-wise. Did make the mistake of buying it in Dutch, which does not lend itself for the way it is written.
