Wow, Cleaver pulls absolutely zero punches with regards to the reactionary (even counterrevolutionaryl elements of Marxism-Leninism. It's quite a forceful argument and more convincing than that of Dauvé. I love having my infantilism vindicated with solid readings of Marx. The (tempting) idea that Soviet style 'socialist accumulation' is the summum bonum of the struggle against capital remains extremely depressing.

Autonomism probably faces some of the same issues as any other 'ultraleft' currents. It's easy to point at China and the Soviet Union and ask the autonomist: what have you ever done? Harry Cleaver apparent analyzes the Zapatistas as autonomist working class action, but later in the book. I appreciate the focus on politics, and theory as a weapon of class struggle. Ironically Harry Cleaver held tenure. Let him cook
