She nodded her eyes dropping to my lips. My chest squeezed my lungs making it hard to breathe. ”Don’t.” I said shaking my head. ”Don’t look at my lips like that, Milow.”

I pulled back enough to see her face, to make sure she was still okey with this. Her lashes fluttered against her cheeks, and her lips were still parted. The sight was my undoing. ”You’re so damm beautiful.”

He’s horrified by the dream but part of him treasures it because it’s the only time he’s ever “heard” her voice, even if it was just in his imagination.

This guy is terrified that Milow will grow up and not need him anymore. Not because he wants to control her, but because protecting her has become part of who he is.
