Got this book thinking it would be a good old-fashioned detective novel from that era (like the other two Matsumoto translations that Penguin previously published). So far seems more like a thriller...and a conspiracy-centered narrative. Also not too fond of the church theme, to be honest. It's a thick book oo, not sure if I'd persevere or just abandon it. The French flap edition itself is beautiful, though.
