It's very interesting to read "craft" books at this stage in my writing life. How would be revelations feel more like affirmations. Or a way of approaching an element that I had never fully explored. I love it, and McCracken's familiar and intimate voice makes it feel like a casual chat over coffee instead of the words of a mentor or teacher.

I am struggling to put this book down. So far, nothing overly prescriptive, but lots of wisdom and impactful descriptions of the writing life. Also, much funnier than I anticipated!
