Jamie just REVIVED? Are we fr? That ending was so fairytale and ridiculous. I started liking it a bit more and now I kind of just can’t stand Frankie tbh. Like yeah the content is important and would be interesting if it wasn’t told through Frankie’s overly dramatic and dragged out story. The characterization was the weakest point. I think that’s why I really didn’t like it although I really wanted to.

Holy fucking soap opera.

This book got better slightly when Frankie returned from the war when her life wasn’t all about Ry and her actual friendships with the women helped her but then it was focused on that psychiatrist then Ry again and now it’s a drawn out romance instead of the historical fiction of the WOMEN in the war that I was expecting. Ugh.

The fuck?? I thought this was about war? Why is there multiple romance subplots that are frankly very poorly developed. The characters are insanely flat and I cannot differentiate between any of them. This Rye character came from nowhere & now they fucking?? And his feelings for him have been so intense he can’t be in the same room as her? PUH LEASE. At least with Jamie we got some build up… 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wowww okay I judged too soon. The village was in south Vietnam. And only the Americans had bombs.

Why does the author only describe a person’s skin colour if they are black? One of the soldiers was described as “American” and the other is a “Black man” as if they aren’t both American tfff?? And wowww they treat Vietnamese people how kind of them!!! 🙄😒 I wonder why they need treatment in the first place hmmm 🤔

So weird to read this in the US perspective and especially a white republican girl from Texas. I do appreciate the pacing of this though, we got straight into it. Loved the little wink to slaughterhouse five. Babies at war.
