This book is an ache, a longing, a deep pang. This book is sadness and celebration. Some of its chapters have swallowed me whole and spit me out, emotionally exhausted. (I wish I had read this before "Farewell Summer," the last in the trilogy. I would have given a fairer assessment of that novel.) I write this with 30% of the story yet to unfold. I cannot imagine where I am headed next.
