Best read as I am reading it now, I think: separate from the other book in time and sentiment, and very enjoyable that way, though the treatment of Native Americans, ie. how they are discussed within the narrative, is poor. I remember the first book as more progressive in this respect, despite more modern criticisms. So maybe I will re-reread that one at some point. (Not any time soon, though. Cuz I got BINGO.)

Because "Little Orphan Annie" is just too long when I have so many other books going.)
