The female protagonist in this book is the type of woman in books that will be driven to do something, consequences be damned, with absolutely no help or taking any suggestions from people who know more/better. Then when the consequences, predicable consequences, arrive, she beats herself up for being singularly minded and not thinking of others. It’s annoying.
