This book is all plot and no character logic. I got so frustrated by the constant mental editing processes that I was subjecting myself to while reading that I had to pause. Not as teeth-gritting as Kristin Hannah, and dammit, I may just have to finish this to see where all the threads end up, but ... arrrrgggghhhhh. Fantastic speculative fiction promise, shitty storytelling execution.
