Free labour can be purchased only when this labour has been released from its objective conditions of existence through the process of history. What enables moneywealth to become capital is the encounter on one side with free workers and, on the other, with the necessaries and materials which prior were in one way or another the property of the masses who have now become objectless, and are also free and purchasable.
