Is the cat schizophrenic?! This book makes my brain hurt.

At first I thought Ted was schizophrenic, but then Olivia confirmed Lauren so then I thought she was real but her schedule is so weird? And now I’m like is she his kidnapping victim?? But also is she a ghost?? What is happening!!!!!!!!!
