Idk, it's just so flat. This Damiano is just not someone I see as a threat / someone dangerous. He hasn't DONE anything for the book to justify the mystique it assigns to him. I'm just meant to believe that he has a history of cruelty and also this inexplicable soft spot for Caligula and Rosa and his friend, all 3 of the people we see him interact with!?!?! I call bullshit.

Maybe I've read too much fucked up shit cuz lowkey, this Damiano is sooooo tame. He cares too much about Caligula on day one, it's really diminishing his potential 'darkness' when the only bad thing that's happened to Caligula is that he fainted for UNRELATED TO THIS DAMIANO REASONS!!!
