Realising the author writes incest was like getting hit with a freightrain. I know what I read, I do agree some dynamics were strange, but that still surprised me a bit. But hey, Penelope Douglas can't be hogging the genre.

I get you Hannah, there's no satisfaction in seeing Marcus beat up. I was just worried there would be consequences for the boys.

The timing of the Cass chapter right after a Teague chapter is intruiging

I really like that the first chapter was from Boone's POV, it made the horror of finding out what happened to Ash so juicy in a sad way ofc

And this is the perfect set up for this kind of book <3
