Max kissed Jed and now he wants to apologize. He wants to make sure we don't accelerate the slow burn romance, LOL.

Jed helped Max across the yard, a little puzzled she’d left Max’s side, until he reached the cabin and saw she’d run ahead and opened every door in his path. Every door, it seemed, except the door to Max’s bedroom. Instead, she was waiting in the doorway of Jed’s bedroom.

Good girl. Such a well trained dog (cough)

This is really good. Jed and Max are not the immediate couple I assumed they would be. I'm curious where this will be going.
