Jesus, Jed is a piece of work. He should really open up a bit and get a grip on his life.

Max kissed Jed and now he wants to apologize. He wants to make sure we don't accelerate the slow burn romance, LOL.

Jed helped Max across the yard, a little puzzled she’d left Max’s side, until he reached the cabin and saw she’d run ahead and opened every door in his path. Every door, it seemed, except the door to Max’s bedroom. Instead, she was waiting in the doorway of Jed’s bedroom.

Good girl. Such a well trained dog (cough)

This is really good. Jed and Max are not the immediate couple I assumed they would be. I'm curious where this will be going.

“I’m the pastor’s son who had everything going for him until he knocked his girlfriend up and dropped out of school. My job’s not great, and my other job is—” It was his turn to look at Gracie. “Also not great.”
“But you’re the one who said you didn’t want a relationship and you’d prefer to stick to, um”—I glanced at Gracie—“playdates.”

I love that Gracie is witnessing this conversation. Must be quite confusing...

This book is quite entertaining. I'm having a little trouble believing that this hot muscled stripper knows literally nothing about sex and needs his daughter's elementary school teacher to educate him (like literally 'educate' him with homework and little gold stars for effort). But okay with his strict upbringing as a pastor's son, I could see it.

I’d spent a lot of time in church while I was growing up, but it felt like this was the first time I really understood what worship was.

LOL, that's a great sentence. I love it.

This story is so good. All the characters are amazing!!

“Daddy, hurry up!” Gracie said, tugging at the hem of my shirt. “We can’t be late! Mr. Smith will see!” She glanced toward the front door like she expected her teacher to be standing there with a stopwatch.

"Wilder, you missed all the good bits. Like did he pick you out of a lineup and say, ‘I want that hot daddy to dance for me’?”
“Jesus,” I said. “How do you think stripping works? It’s not a fucking buffet."

Gracie was one of nature’s organizers—something she obviously got from her mother because her father couldn’t organize his way out of a paper bag. He could shimmy out of a pair of assless chaps just fine, though—and why was I even thinking about that?

It was honestly kind of a rush, having everyone watching me. When I was stripping, I wasn’t the pastor’s kid who’d fucked up, or the single dad who was always late for drop-off, or the guy who slept through his alarm. I was the hot guy, and everybody wanted me.

Wow, this is the best start of a mm romance I've seen in a long time.

Noah's chair scraped against the linoleum as he leaned forward. "You'll break both your hearts if you do this."

Come on, Noah could volunteer. Ten minutes of anal sex to save Ethan's soul from damnation. That's what best friends are for.

"You know, there's always been an obvious solution."
He never liked to think about it, but now was the time to consider all his options seriously.
"What do you mean?" Mal asked.
"I could just sleep with someone I don't love."

That's genius! It would totally break the contract. Will he do it, though?

"But Ethan, I can't stay here indefinitely."
"Don't you have to watch over me until I lose my virginity?"

"I suppose that's true," Mal allowed.

...20 years later: They're still sitting on that sofa, drinking coffee. ;-))

"Our deal is that… um…" Damn it, how could Ethan say this with a straight face? "He gets my soul if I lose my virginity to the man I love."

Noah stared at him. "That's what you sold your soul for? Sex?"

"Not sex! The sex isn't the important part!"
Noah continued to stare at him, and Ethan couldn't blame him.

Hmm, interesting. So far, Mel doesn't realize that he could make Ethan fulfill his contract by being the man Ethan loses his virginity to. Or does "man" mean it must be a human? Right now, Ethan is willing to serve his soul on a silver platter if Mel jumps into bed with him.

As a romance, I find this book pretty mediocre, but the supernatural aspects are very well done. It reminds me a lot of the universe of Beetlejuice, just that our demon Mel is a rather sexy hunky demon. The bureaucracy of hell is very Tim Burton here, though. I love it.

Why? Why is this just a short story... It's so good. I would LOVE to read so much more about William Raven.

Oh, someone's getting knighted tonight.

I started this because I wanted to see the sexual exploits between a lord and his squire. But the plot is actually pretty darn good. The short crime plot wraps up nicely.

I find this book surprisingly realistic considering it's a gay romance set in the 12th century. Like a mild Game of Thrones with gay sex.

After more than 10 years, I am currently re-reading "Dark Edge of Honor" by Aleksandr Voinov.
I am simply blown away. If you enjoyed Special Forces, make sure to read this. Sergei reminds me so much of a young Vadim -who is my favorite character ever - and I cannot get over how much this book captivates me.

He groans. “Swear to God, can’t you just be gay? Do you have to be an academic, too? It’s like a dagger through the heart.”

This is so good. What an amazing story.

They might not yet realize it, but Luke is the perfect son in law for Keaton's father. He's interested in exactly the kind of finance stuff that Keaton's dad is trying to force on his unwilling son.

Aaaw, Keaton Hayworth III is actually quite a decent guy, I love him <3
