this might be a dnf, i am so annoyed by the amount of purple prose. maybe i just made a lot of assumptions about this book but a "time war" over Atlantis were nothing happens is just probably not for me.

Like I can tell there's a romantic subplot but at over a quarter in I don't know enough about either character to really give a shit. I hardly know what opposing factors they're apart of or what they stand for expect ones mecha based and ones vaguely elf based? What the hell does this have to do with Atlantis and security a better future? They don't talk about what's going on they just tease each other. It's like watching two AI chatbots flirt
