I mean, this is so perfectly set up and relatable! And then add in everything else that's going on in their lives and it's like... what a well-rounded story!! And Luc does need to support Oliver BUT Oliver is stepping right over Luc to make unilateral decisions and statements and everyone just needs to take several seats and several deep breaths! Then there's Luc's job drama and how fun is that?! What a great book!!

I would've never expected the teenage-foster route. It is fascinating watching them do this! I am loving their dynamic, I am loving how they're handling the various challenges. And it is brave of the author to make this choice; it has its own set of unique situations. You feel for Jaz, of course, but also for Oliver and Luc with this being their very first foray into parenting. And of course it's also hilarious...

My goodness I can't believe I keep forgetting to update my progress! I can't highlight the whole book but I wish I could with all the witty banter. There might be no story at all and it might just be really really clever British people being silly. But there is also a story and the raising of Spud is as cute as you'd expect and the decision to try to foster is an amazingly mature one.
