I admit it, I was angry at Athena for punishing Medusa for surviving (?)
I hate to say it but I understand it. Zeus is the same as Poseidon, and he won’t punish his brother for raping a mortal, she did what she did to at least save her place and not go against any of the gods, she is trying to stay up in the chain and not be thrown out, after all, she is so proud. It’s not like they ever care about mortals

So Poseidon raped Medusa, and Athena turned her into a monster, then she comes to Perseus to HELP him get Medusa killed
Because they are all too cowards to go and fight Medusa and kill her because they fear she is stronger than them
