The pacing of this book is far slower than I’d anticipated. It’s good, for sure, but progress has been rather slow thus far.

We switched to the audiobook while on our trip out of state this week… back to print now that we’re home. All of that time in the car made for plenty of progress — even spending only a small fraction of that time on this.
The book is better than I was expecting from the reviews, but definitely very different from the others in the series.

This one definitely has a much different feel than the other books in the series — both the original trilogy and the newer prequel. Hopefully my daughter can continue to follow the story despite the more complicated narrative.

Stick with it! I really liked it, but I agree it’s a slower pace.

I’m definitely enjoying it! I actually wish I could read it more, but as a storytime book I can’t do that on my own. There’s more to explain, as the occasional “huh?” peeps up while I read. She’s getting most of it though, I think.
Got any plans for what you guys will read after you finish all of this series? I was just telling Tay the other day how much I loved The City of Ember when I was around her age
She’s reading that level of books on her own — she’s read it at least twice, probably more. I have no clue what to read to her next, but I need to find something soon!
