I am enjoying how much community Kiela is adding to her world. Also, her and Larran? That is both cute and so funny because they're both so shy about showing affection for one another. Meanwhile Kiela is like 'why does he smell so good?' Making me giggle a bit. Caz is 100% stealing the show though especially with his new cactus "friend" Meep.

Initially I found Kiela quite unlikable but I’ve noticed something. It’s anxiety and quite a healthy dose of social anxiety at that. She hasn’t exactly become warm and bubbly now but at least I get her off putting nature. She’s just decided to open her spell shop which should be interesting given her desire to not interact with people.

But of slow progress due to feeling a bit unwell. And perhaps it’s shading my thoughts on this book but the FMC Kiela is quite unlikeable. She’s basically a jerk to her neighbor who was nothing but helpful and nice. And pretty much wants to be a total hermit and eschew any human interaction. We’ll see how this goes but I don’t like her so far.
