Why do people, especially children, have to be so cruel? While reading the parts when Kokoro was just starting junior high school and getting bullied, I remember a mean girl in my class in first grade in elementary, who told a newfound friend of mine not to be friends with me and not to hold hands with me, and said those words right in my presence as well.
