I legitimately don't understand how the main character is constantly *shocked* that things within the extremely deadly demon-created haunted mansion trial games being played for life changing quantities of money are nefarious and out to get her. Ma'am, how do you think swathes of people die if not from malicious intent???? Were you asleep during the whole backstory????
