"Then it's a good thing I'm planning not to get caught"
She'll get caught immediately, isn't she.

"She should just stick to taking books in the future, rather than trying to make a fair exchange. Quicker, quieter, and less trouble with vampires"
Is the author for real? Irene can't manage quiet if her life depended on it. Oh look, another job going wrong because she is terrible at her job 🤣

Book 4 let's goooo
I'm not sure how the Library can maintain any kind of neutrality and pretend they're not more aligned with the dragons. Chaos is literally not allowed in the library and they accept dragon apprentices?

It's not much of a story if she only makes sensible decisions

That's just the thing: in the situation it was a completely sensible decision! It's just that because Irene immediately raises suspicion (often for ridiculous reasons that aren't her fault) or people are tracking her and catching her immediately, it's just a bit demoralising to read. No matter what she does everyone seems immediately alerted by her, invalidating her entire skillset. I want the spy stuff to work so bad, I just don't know why the author always makes it come down to a brawl?
