Ive read his other two books Shuggie Bain and Young Mungo which I LOVED! This one is even better than those in my humble opinion.
Theres something about how he is able to write about the shame that some gay men of a certain era carried or carries. His writing speaks and gives voice to those men. At least I feel this about his writing. I just love it.
And I would like to add I found him on my own.
