Florida has dark and racist history but I just learned about the white Bob massacre of 60 Black people in Ocoee, Florida in 1920. The whites burned black homes and businesses to the ground and is just utterly devastating when you read this kind of history. History the Republicans don’t want us to know. History they long to hide. As a white person, what the hell is wrong with white people?

So much of this book relates back to the mess that is Trump. A weak and insecure man who lies, cheats, berates, bullies, yells, and shouts to get his way. Not a leader; just a bully. And anyone who supports him. I want nothing to do with. You cannot be a good person and support this administration. Full stop 🛑

Also appalled to learn the father of gynecology came to his discoveries by experimenting on enslaved women that often ended in disfigurement or death. And of course he also refused anesthesia bc no one cares about women’s pain 🥴

Good grief but not surprised that Alabama was the last state to repeal endogamy laws in 2000! And 40% of the electorate voted in favor of keeping the marriage ban on the books.

This country has never been great

By the time Hitler rose to power, the United States “ was not just a country with racism.” “It was the leading racist jurisdiction — so much so that even Nazi Germany looked to America for inspiration.” The Nazis recognized the parallels even if many Americans did not.

And yet here we are again in Amerikkka 2026 and the racist Republican MAGA regime.

Racism and casteism truly go work in tandem and are so obviously interwoven into the fabric of Amerikkka. On a side note, I’m enraged that this is our current reality. We should be furious every day and I will never forgive anyone who voted for this mess.

The caste system puts us into boxes. In the rise of authoritarianism of the 1930s and now in Amerikkka, the Republican Party has transformed the US into Nazi Germany. The striking thing is, it was always this way. Amerikkka was built on the labor and backs of the enslaved and white people demand power derived from their skin color and nothing else.

No one is ourselves. We fit into whatever box they put us in.

People who do not know that they are captive will not resist their bondage.
