as far as first impressions go, this one is... not good

i thought the quirky dialogue and personality was a fandom thing, and i can appreciate it in fandom spaces, but in a book that is centred around an apocalypse? idk, it's not that i want the characters to be miserable 24/7, but the quirkiness of grace's lines, even when he learns devastating information, takes me out of it
