How did Janice Hadlow transpose my exact insecurities and internal monologues from 2013 - 2019 into Mary Bennet's mind because this is taking Literally Me™ literature to an uncomfortably personal level

Me, a few months ago, dnfing this to wait for the tv series: "I just don't have time right now to justify getting the same story twice. Switching to prioritize other books, but if I love the series I may revisit this one day!"

Me now, having re-watched the show three times and consumed 200,000 words of fanfic in a month: ... I was unprepared

Every other scene in this makes me want to cryyyyyy I'm in this book and I don't like it!!!
