This is a strange pursuit. The idea here is not to engage with the ideas, but to instead focus on making us think that his specific personality wasn't that bad. Thus far, it seems you can summarize the entire thesis like this:

"He was a nicer guy than he gets credit for."

I'm just not sure what the point is of that.
