It seems this book is in two halves. I've read the half that sets the scene and I'm now seeing why the book is called The Calamity Club. It's a long book but it's a great story, with depth. It moves fast with plenty of meat on the bones. Satisfying. And well written. It's a long book, but I'll always pick it up to read a new chapter if I've got time so I'll be through it far too quickly.
