It's too bad this copy of this book I have is now literally coming apart in my hands.

Okay, so I'm enjoying this.
Is it just me, or is the Captain exhibiting perhaps unrealistically but surprisingly sympathetically portrayed symptoms of unusually rapid-cycling bi-polar disorder? Or Border Personality Disorder.
Or maybe he's just traumatized, and paranoid.
Anyway, I find it interesting that he's not being shown as evil - so far, anyway - given the plot. I expected him to be more Evil.

Picked up a battered paperback copy of this book somewhere - I am 99.8% sure I didn't pay for it.) There are loose pages, I'm not even sure if my copy is complete.
I'm also not sure I'm going to read all of it anyway, as the writing so far is... how should I put this... very pulp of it's time... but how could I not pick this up for free, with this cover?
Giving Crimson Tide vibes so far, with some extra homophobia.
