“Alistaire, we are all of us playing characters. Even when the character is ourselves.”

I am really hooked ! I like the fact that even though the Playhouse is the main setting of the story, the plot is not confined to the playhouse and what happens in it has/ will have consequences on the whole world. The character's actions are truly meaningful, it's not “just a game” like it was the case in Caraval (I am only referring to the first book of the trilogy).

2026 is the year we should stop writing the cliché dialogue “I hate you.” / “You don't hate me.” in enemies-to-lovers novels. It is so unnatural and adds nothing to the story. That said, the beginning is very promising.

FINALLY BACK TO MY ROOTS !!!! 😁😁😁 I haven't read a single fantasy in 2026 and watching the fantasy C-drama Love in the clouds reminded me of how much I adore this genre. So here I am, school be damned.
