Man, still such a powerful book. One that all high schoolers should read. Reading this now as a mother, is so scary. Melinda had so many signs of depression and shame: silent, lost friends, bad grades etc. It’s sad that her parents were just mad at her and didn’t think to dive deeper.

Listening to the Afterword, I love hearing them share the laws of consent.

I remember reading this in high school, I’m can’t believe it’s been out for 25+ years!
