Rereading again cause it’s impossible to stop and start and get the idea of what’s being talked about after awhile. It’s literally impossible to talk about or give a take on this book in plain language. It’s kind of convoluted, but makes really interesting points about entertainment and TV’s influence on culture. Interesting to try to extend its points to modern entertainment

Wallace completes a thorough and complex analysis of meta-cognition and media, but his selection here also warns against over intellectualization. Murray participates as a genuine exercise of observation and commentary, but in doing so participates in the “…accumulation of nameless energies.”
