i do think if connor never had rose, he’d descend such a soulless and colorless path. his passion would be there, but it’d be disregarded due to its occasional inconvenience, until it became completely foreign. she saved him, and he knows it too. he’s acknowledged it.

that honestly makes sense for connor as a character, bc he does have a history of putting his own emotions to the side based on what’s most pragmatic. it’s become natural for him. that’s why he needs rose. she’s so so passionate and embraces her emotions so fully. he needs someone to remind him that he has that same level of love & passion, and that he NEEDS to let himself experience them.

“I can convince myself that Sadie is fine without me, so I have no emotions towards leaving her behind, but Rose can’t. Jane can’t.”

so it sounds like connor DOES care about sadie and doesn’t wanna leave her behind, but bc he thought she was dangerous for his family, he had to convince himself she’d be fine on her own. so he does care, he’s just ignoring that part of himself.

do i wish connor ended the relationship immediately? yes. do i understand he was worried about isolating daisy even further and leaving her with no one that actually supports or understands her? and that he just wanted to keep her safe while also letting her know she has someone on her side as she figures everything out on her own? also yes.

it really was a fucking terrible relationship
