2nd chapter pushed back the slime of the first. Fast action. Rapid simple but effective character building. Well-managed tension,salted with spiky interior monologue wit. Engaging dog.

That was an unpleasant and disturbing start. Credible and not exploitative. Which is why it’s disturbing. If there’s a lot of that then I’m not going to make it to the end of this book.
