war is a surrealist horror that follows you for the rest of your life.
Even the mention of the author, who admits it was he who was shitting himself brainless in a ww2 german camp.
Life feels magical, mythical, and miserable when reading this book.
I hate feeling so seen.

There isn't much to say about dead and dying boys besides phrases like 'that is horrible' and 'i wish this never happened'. But as the author stated, writing something ani-war is wasting breath. I know its wrong, I know it wont change, I still hope the fighting will stop. There has to be more that I can do than thoughts and prayers.
