Oh, Fitz! He needs a hug. He's all alone in this world again.

Wow...these skill lessons were so reminiscent of the occlumency lessons Harry had with Snape. Also the way Fitz was depressed was like how some people have their mind broken in kotlc. I am finding a lot of parallels with kotlc and harry potter in this book.

Fitz needs all the love in the world. Like he's had nothing but trauma in this story .

Anyways, so... I was reminded of Sophie communicating with Silveny in kotlc, the way Fitz ( the mmc here, not the kotlc fitz) communicates with his puppy. Also the puppy is so much eager like Silveny, the way he's like Take me! Take me to see horses!
