Btw. I just found out that Poland removed Asperger syndrome diagnoses and basically when you have AS you’re getting a paper for autism. Not fun. I was actually redoing my last diagnose and I got paper for AS but if I were to do it later, I would get an autism one. That’s so annoying. Like, those things are not the same. Why are they doing this. I’m so annoyed.

I mean, I get why they’re moving away from the term Asperger syndrome but I do feel like their should be some kind of distinction between high and low functioning autistic people, at the very least in a psychological/medical context. It’s part of the reason I refused to have my autism diagnosis officially documented.

I thought autism and asperger's were the same thing, just different names. In the uk autism is classified into 3 levels based on the amount of support an individual requires, which I think is cool
@lena I‘m very specific about my accommodations too but my current frustrations are activity-related 🙂↕️@jake Asperger‘s is an outdated term for high-functioning/low support needs autism
