its a non linear, jumpy book so far, which is incredibly interesting. there are short scenes compiled into the book. his prose is beautiful, him recalling bits of his childhood is so vivid, and he has already touched on war, immigration, and abuse

the story from what i’m learning is just excerpts of their life together. he’s briefly mentioned monarch butterflies and migration, and how once a butterfly migrates, they can never head back— only their children can make the travel around. “only the future can look back at the past”. im also realising this is a book thatd meant yo br savoured
