I'm super invested so far! The prophecy, the secrets that friends can't speak with eachother about, the slowburn, the whump, the magics and slight body horror! Yasss!
(Though I wish the aftermath of the assault (let's be real that was rape) on Alec was more nuanced, not simply everyone thinking that it was willing :( But maybe that's still to come? Kinda doubt that though, he seems pretty unknowing himself)

That's so unfortunate to hear! It felt so weird that Seregil wasn't worried about him the moment they located him, like surely he would know something is up and that it wasn't consensual since he himself was also almost enticed by Ylinestra's magic in the previous book. Or just generally seeing how inexperienced and shy Alec is in general on these things. Nysander was almost worried enough but not about the right things. Like pls someone, this man's been violated >:c I get that Alec can't really make sense of it himself though, he was literally put under a spell

Let's just say the rape is basically swept under the rug??? It isn't really treated as severely as it should be :((( Alex just ends up having negative feelings towards her and nothing else comes of it. I found that other aspects of the book were treated more severely compared to the rape (hide spoiler)]
The book was still really great through so I hope you still have a good time!!!
