So far there’s a LOT of telling rather than showing, it’s literally the MC describing the story of the book, so we the reader can understand the situation she’s in having woken up inside said book. I’m waiting for the pivotal moment that I assume will change the way the story is being told and it will feel more immersive. This book also has a very high rating, so I’m intrigued.

Finally something interesting has happened. I nearly DNF'ed this at 35%, pushed through to 50% and only now am I feeling like I want to keep reading. Not great!

This is feeling like a slog, the info dumping is very annoying. The premise is really interesting but I'm not sure I can push through all the info dumping that pauses the story. I'll keep trying as everyone seems to love this story, although maybe it's because there's people who finish this story vs the people who DNF it and can't get through it.
