Btw I do have to say, how the book handles women and sexuality is very uh. Outdated and I’m aware of that.

At first I really hated the sex/romance direction….but like…damn, HIGHKEY I get it now. I relate to Charlie a lot, in a way.
I understand feeling too ahead and too far behind at the same time socially, romantically, emotionally.


Alice is still weird for encouraging his feelings for HER though. Kinda predatory, but I think Charlie is seeing that? With the painting thing, where the woman is holding the sword.

Floor me. I had to stop and just THINK about my own empathy and patience with people. Damn.

Anyway what a HORRIFYING concept. The idea of having to come to terms with the bullying and the abuse all at once.
Charlie getting to feel actually angry at his life is such a raw and amazing and awful moment.
